Abstract
Costa rica is facing an important historical moment. the economic crisis contributed to highlight the economic, political and social problems with which the Costa ricans grew accustomed to living. During the past fifty years, we got used to live out of past glories. Statics replaced progress, and the passion for liberty was transformed into obedience to authority, without question. there gradually emerged an intellectual class without courage, and key decision-making spaces were filled by interest groups who used their power and creativity to pervert the law and to legally plunder the citizens. the crisis opens a window of opportunity to transform and abandon, for good, that sad reality and regain the freedom we have lost. Here we explore a proposal to do it.
