Manuscript Submission Requirements

Papers submitted for evaluation must meet all the requirements on this list. Publication proposals that fail to comply with any of these provisions will be returned.

  1. Submit the electronic version of the text, preferably in MS Word for Windows, via the submission page .
  2. If your article introduces notes, insert them as part of the text, between parentheses, eg, (1), that is, without using the specific word processor commands . Place the respective text of the notes at the end of the document.
  3. The parts of the article must appear in the following order: name of the author, title of the work, abstract, keywords, text, notes, bibliographical references, biographical data and additional information (see points 10 to 12).
  4. Submit only original and unpublished work. The Editorial Board will determine whether or not to accept translations of texts previously published in another language.
  5. Papers written in Spanish, English or Portuguese will be accepted. In special cases, writings in other languages will be accepted.
  6. Texts should not exceed 55,000 characters, counting spaces, and including notes and bibliographical references. Use your word processor's character counter to determine the extension.
  7. Do not use underlines. If you want to emphasize or write words in another language, use italics (italics). The bold type is reserved for headings and subheadings. If you are quoting verbatim, enclose them in double quotes if you write them within the text; do not use quotation marks if you place them in a separate paragraph.
  8. Use italics in the following cases: references to books and articles in the main text, terms in other languages, and emphasis on specific words in the text
  9. The abstract (in Spanish and English) should provide a clear and precise description of the content of the text and should not exceed 200 words. The abstract should be written in the third person, without quotations. Its structure should be organized in the following sections: objective, problem, methodology, development and conclusions. The objective must state the central purpose of the article, i.e. the problematization of a concept, the analysis of a philosophical tradition or the discussion of a theoretical debate. The problem describes and mentions the philosophical question being addressed. The methodology describes the philosophical approach adopted, i.e. conceptual analysis, hermeneutic, phenomenological, discursive criticism. The development synthesizes the main arguments and the central discussion of the text. Finally, the conclusions summarize i.e. the philosophical contributions of the article, possible impact on the field of research.
  10. Write down, after the summary of the text and before the beginning of it , no more than 5 keywords, so that the work is more easily catalogued.
  11. Write down, at the end of the document, your academic or institutional affiliation, your degree, and a very brief list of your most important or recent publications.
  12. Also include, after this short resume, your postal address and email.
  13. Please cite bibliographic references according to the provisions described below.
  14.  The reviews work with the blind peer model: the academic peers who evaluate the articles are anonymous to the authors; likewise, the authors are anonymous to the peers.
  15. Include a second language version of the abstract and keywords, preferably English. Articles whose abstracts in English ( abstract ) are not correctly written will be rejected ad portas .
