Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the expansion of Postgraduation in the last 10 years in Brazil in articulation with the implementation process of the Ph.D. in Nursing and Health of the State University of Southwest of Bahia. This is a scientific essay with the analysis of the academic production of the last 10 years searching the Web of Science database and the publications of the official education bodies. We analyzed eight articles found on the subject and four documents that regulate the graduate programs. An effort has been made over the years in the documentation of educational plans and projects to break the regional dichotomies demonstrated in educational terms of qualification and quantification of postgraduate programs, as well as propositions of objectives for the internationalization and expansion of scientific research. The implementation of the current postgraduate course in Nursing and Health of the State University of Southwest of Bahia is implemented filling the gap of interdisciplinarity for the training of health professors and researchers considering the context of the Unified Health System.
