Resumen
Se presenta una clasificación topográfica de las hemoglobinas anormales. Se indican también algunos mecanismos que explican el comportamiento físicoquímico anormal de hemoglobinas mutantes tomadas como ejemplos ilustrativos. Se señalan brevemente algunas expresiones clínicas en determinados padecimientos originados por variantes hemoglobínicas anormales. Finalmente, se hace ver que la función y la supervivencia en solución de la molécula de las hemoglobinas depende del mantenimiento de una precisa arquitectura tridimensional.Citas
