Author Guidelines

Submissions criteria

You can locate our rules to publish in Revista Educación via this link: Submission Guidelines. This document includes information on how to submit the manuscript format and what are the requirements regarding the content of the types of articles.

To send your article you must complete and submit the following statement duly signed: Statement of Originality

Revista Educación works with the APA (American Psychological Association) style, 7° Edition, for the preparation of quotations and references.

Documents. The person(s) author(s) must submit the following documents through the website of the Journal.

  • Article you wish to publish.
  • Brief academic CV.
  • Statement of Originality hat the article is unedited, and the assignment of copyrights.

Call for papers

The call for papers is open from January 1 to 31 and July 1 to 31.

Process.

To send documents, go to the website and register as http://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/educacion/user/register author.

Under the title "Start a new submission", click where indicated and follow the five steps that will be there said.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

In case of non-compliance, the document may be returned to the authors or rejected ad portas.

Articles

A scientific article is a document up to 8000 (eight thousand) words that derives from a research work, social project or teaching experience. It presents achievements and their possible scientific applications. It must specify the objectives, the methodology and the results of the part chosen to be submitted to the journal. It must state its purposes and demonstrate independence with respect to the research on which it is based; that is, it must show semantic self-sufficiency.

Articles on teaching experience, social action experience, and research experience

Scientific article (teaching experience, social action experience, and research experience): A scientific article is a document up to 8000 (eight thousand) words that derives from a research work, social project or teaching experience. It presents achievements and their possible scientific applications. It must specify the objectives, the methodology and the results of the part chosen to be submitted to the journal. It must state its purposes and demonstrate independence with respect to the research on which it is based; that is, it must show semantic self-sufficiency.

Bibliographic Reviews

Bibliographic Reviews: A bibliographic review is a document up to 8000 (eight thousand) words. It consists of an annotated synthesis of research reports, research articles, books, among others, of a specific field of study related to the topics of interest of the journal. It may review the most remarkable writers, their main ideas, and contributions. It may provide an analysis and comments based on objective and supported statements. The section in this research related to the antecedents can become an article of this type.

Essays

Essays: An essay is a document up to 6000 (six thousand) words.  This type of document supports a thesis or contrasts two or more theses about a specific subject of study.  It is a reflexive discourse in which an emphasis is made on the analysis of existing studies and ideas to date, with the objective of transcending its scope and discussing its relevance. It is a text in which the discussion of ideas is fundamental.
