Mercados Agrícolas como Lugares de Identidade e Coesão Social: uma análise comparativa entre Monteverde e Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Resumo

Esta pesquisa explora as avaliações de dois mercados agrícolas em Tamarindo e Monteverde, Costa Rica, como espaços que promovem identidade e coesão social. A partir de uma abordagem quantitativa, utilizando pesquisas in loco, foram analisadas as percepções dos usuários sobre a contribuição dos mercados como espaços associados à identidade do lugar, identidade comunitária e espaços de encontro. No geral, as avaliações foram favoráveis em ambos os mercados, embora significativamente mais altas em Tamarindo, onde há uma maior variedade de produtos, serviços e atividades culturais em comparação com sua contraparte em Monteverde. Essas diferenças favorecem Tamarindo considerando também gênero, nacionalidade, frequência de visitação e tempo para chegar ao mercado. Os resultados sugerem que esses mercados podem promover maior coesão comunitária e melhores relações sociais, diversificando sua oferta de atividades além daquelas de caráter comercial.
