Resumo

O sistema imunológico está estreitamente relacionado ao processo de carcinogênese e demonstrou responder ao efeito de diferentes modalidades de exercícios físicos. As células Natural Killer (NK), como parte do sistema imunológico inato, desempenham um papel fundamental nos estágios iniciais da vigilância do tumor, bem como durante o tratamento e o risco de recorrência. No entanto, durante o tratamento do câncer, sua função pode ser comprometida pelos efeitos adversos da quimioterapia ou radioterapia. Nesse contexto, o exercício físico surge como uma estratégia não farmacológica promissora para aprimorar a função imunológica e melhorar os parâmetros de composição corporal, o que tem impacto sobre as células NK; no entanto, essa relação continua sendo objeto de estudo. Este artigo de opinião discute as evidências sobre as respostas das células NK e sua relação com as mudanças na composição corporal em pacientes que se exercitam regularmente.
