Abstract
The birth of Estudios magazine was the product of continuous effort from researchers that believed in this project, which was first printed in 1978. However, with the accession of internet, new technologies and digitalization of information, the magazine was obliged to enter the world of metadata, a universe of algorithms in which knowledge is globalized and expanded through interconnection networks.
In the past, articles where preserved jealously through hardcover issues, now they travel freely through internet, identified as digital objects with specific numbering for quick localization. Furthermore, they are saved in a digital library, named from metalanguage like: repositories, indexes, databases and directories, which gather information through different methods that involve the use of metadata.
The entrance of Estudios magazine in the metadata era has been a stage of great learning and ample transformation relevant to the administration of digital information implicated in editorial management.
