Abstract

Presentation of Volume 11, Number 1, JANUARY-JUNE 2025

Peter Drucker (1909-2005) stated that only three things happen naturally in organizations, including educational ones: “friction, confusion, and underperformance”; “everything else requires leadership.” Similarly, Henry Mintzberg (1939) argued that a leader can only be “a brilliant visionary, a truly creative strategist, in which case they can do whatever they want and get away with it; or they must be a true enabler who can bring out the best in others.”

The Revista Gestión de la Educación (RGE) of the School of Educational Administration at the University of Costa Rica aligns with these statements, emphasizing the importance of having visionary leaders and strategists driving change and innovation to continuously improve the quality of educational services. We are pleased to present Volume 11, Number 1 of 2025, as part of our commitment to providing updated knowledge on educational administration at the national and international levels. This knowledge aims to guide and strengthen the leadership of those responsible for managing education.

Volume 11, Number 1 of 2025 is composed of the following articles:

We express our special gratitude to the authors, without whom this publication would not be possible. We also extend our thanks to the Committee of Evaluating Judges, the Editorial Committee, the International Scientific Committee, and the Editorial Commission on Management and Quality for their support and work throughout 2024 in continuing to achieve the RGE's mission: to strengthen research, promote academic reflection, and apply knowledge to address the challenges faced by educational organizations in their administration and management processes.

Finally, we inform our readers and authors that the Editorial Board of the Revista Gestión de la Educación has unanimously decided to transition to a continuous publication methodology starting in 2026. This change aims to reduce submission and publication times and provide greater immediacy in the dissemination and application of knowledge in the field of educational management.

Sincerely,
Juan Antonio Arroyo Valenciano
