With this new year, we present Issue 14(1), which brings together articles, essays and research in various thematic areas. On the one hand, we explore the role of podcasts in the creation of science fiction, the representation of Chinese people in Costa Rican popular magazines of the twentieth century and the fundamental role of women in the independence of the African country, not universally recognized, Somaliland.
Further on, the importance of interdisciplinary knowledge generation is problematized, using the field of Archaeology as an example; and the relationship between Sociology and Literature is explored, as well as the inputs that the latter can provide for sociological approaches. We close the issue with two essays that argue about the concepts of State and its relationship with territory in the postmodern era and the current challenges of democratic systems in the digital era of post-truth.
We hope this new issue will be of benefit to you.
