Abstract

This article shows the analysis of the essays Las trampas de la desgracia y Ese país
donde nunca estuvimos(cultura y sociedad en Costa Rica, 1980-1995) by Alexander
Jiménez Matarrita from different perspectives. On the one hand, to relate both texts
with the theory of the essay and the categories of the present and the time proposed
by Liliana Weinberg; on the other hand, to explain both essays around the theoretical postulates of Michel Foucault and Louis Althusser on the mechanisms of control-distribution of speech and ideological apparatuses of the State, respectively
