Abstract
In this text I propose the thesis that boredom is a moral emotion. For this I analyze the ideas of several thinkers (Schopenhauer, Heidegger, Svendsen, Lafargue) who have treated this and other similar concepts and I propose that boredom should be differentiated from tediousness and laziness. Boredom would distinguish of those concepts in the sense that it adds to the moral perception and adequates to the characteristics that the specialists in the matter (with whom the text establishes a dialogue through out its different sections) point as those of an emotion. The specific contribution of boredom to the moral reflexion would consist in noticing the incapacity of a determined context to produce sense.Comments
