Résumé

Cet article explore les compréhensions autochtones de l’espace et du temps, représentées à travers la spiritualité/cosmologie Kumeyaay, qui contredisent les significations philosophiques et idéologiques des ontologies occidentales. Offre un récit non moderne de la vie de (LaHunt) Karen Vigneault (1958-2019), historienne et militante bispirituelle de Kumeyaay, à travers la philosophie autochtone, la théorie féministe, queer et décoloniale, des documents historiques, des entrevues et des ressources en ligne. Il raconte différentes « histoires » qui découlent de la vie de Vigneault, évoluant l'espace de son corps vécu au caractère sacré de la montagne Kuuchamaay et des terres Kumeyaay (espaces volés), son activisme pour le rétablissement spirituel et culturel, comme l'identité des deux esprits, et la réunification des familles autochtones séparées de force au niveau international (générations volées). Cet article examine comment la colonisation aux États-Unis a affecté les réalités spatio-temporelles et a manqué de respect aux localités, à l'environnement, aux terres sacrées, aux esprits et aux corps du peuple Kumeyaay qui habite la région de San Diego en Californie du Sud depuis plus de 10 000 ans. Découvrez comment des individus comme Vigneault ont consacré leur vie à guérir les fissures et les esprits des populations et des terres locales, réunissant l'espace et le temps grâce à la récupération de lieux, d'histoires, de langues, de traditions, d'identités et de peuples séparés.
