Resumen

El cáncer de mama, una neoplasia del tejido mamario, siendo el segundo más común en todo el mundo y el más frecuente en mujeres, presenta un tratamiento multifacético, considerando diversos factores asociados con la enfermedad. Entre las opciones terapéuticas, la quimioterapia juega un papel crucial, empleando una variedad de linajes y clases de medicamentos antineoplásicos, como los taxanos, ejemplificados por el paclitaxel (PTX). Reconocido por su eficacia en diferentes etapas del cáncer, el PTX representa una herramienta valiosa en el arsenal terapéutico. El impacto del cáncer de mama en la vida de la paciente es significativo y multifacético, influenciado en gran medida por los efectos adversos que pueden surgir durante el tratamiento. En este contexto, el análisis de los factores asociados con las toxicidades cutáneas relacionadas con el PTX adquiere relevancia. Una revisión sistemática realizada en las bases de datos Scopus y Web of Science, abarcando publicaciones de los últimos cinco años (2019-2023), comprendió 26 artículos que contribuyeron a una comprensión más profunda del tema. Los resultados de este análisis destacan la necesidad apremiante de futuros estudios centrados en identificar a pacientes con comorbilidades preexistentes, que pueden influir significativamente en el resultado de las reacciones adversas cutáneas. Dichas investigaciones dirigidas son esenciales para optimizar la gestión de los efectos secundarios del PTX y mejorar la calidad de vida de las pacientes sometidas al tratamiento del cáncer de mama.
