Open Access Policy

The Revista Científica Administrar lo Público has been an Open Access journal since its foundation, which means that all its content is -and always will be available- free of charge to users and their institutions.

The ALP journal is funded by ordinary resources from the Centro de Investigación y Capacitación en Administración Pública (CICAP), the Vicerrectoría de Investigación, and the Universidad de Costa Rica. There are no fees for publication, nor article processing charges (no APC charges), nor any other charge for authors; and there are no fees to access to the published articles. In no way does the absence of costs influence editorial decision-making or the quality of the articles and materials published.

Readers are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, as well as use them for any other lawful purpose, without the need for prior permission from the publisher or the authors.

Regarding the licensing aspects of the ALP Journal's production, the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA) open-source license is used for published articles.

This implies the freedom to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material.

Under the following terms:

  • Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.
  • NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
  • ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

Furthermore, each published manuscript will include its bibliographic header to ensure it can be harvested by indexers and repositories. Additionally, the Open Access distinctive mark is included to facilitate its identification and contribution to Open Science.
