Abstract

This paper aims to assess the discourse of Latin American economists since the 1980s, in light of and in response to the processes of economic liberalization initially implemented in the region and subsequently widespread through globalization. Particular attention is given to the social nature of this discourse, which responds to and is shaped by individual incentives.
