Abstract
The present writing will go through various theoretical and practical analyses of the national cultural identity issues, particularly in terms of this identity’s relation to the migrant population, and when it is questioned by the problem of socio-economic inequality. A new proposal about this subject, which will be rooted from functionalism and cultural materialism, will be revised. Finally, this writing will conclude with some reflections on the need to define an own-Latin American epistemology that would include this and other relevant themes in the social sciences field.Comments
