Abstract

This text offers an understanding of the biographical subject, examining the field of the biographical in psychology and introducing of the concept of biopoetics. To this end, a conceptual analysis and argumentation of the main concepts are carried out. The
research has been conducted in Costa Rica from 2013 to the present. The text concludes with the development of a concept of biopoetics that places the relationship between biopoetics, identity and subjectivation in a fundamental place.

Author Biography

  • Javier Tapia Balladares, Universidad de Costa Rica, San Pedro, San José, Costa Rica.

    Costa Rican. PhD in Developmental Psychology and Psychology of Religion from the Université catholique de Louvain, in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Costa Rica. He is currently the Director of the Institute for Psychological Research at the University of Costa Rica. He is the author of Biopoética de la adolescencia: identidades, creencias, vínculos, which received the Costa Rican National Cultural Research Award in 2019. His research interests include the development of personal identity in adolescence, dialogue strategies, and interpersonal relationships.
