Abstract
This article reviews the Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), which is a behavioral clinical approach centered in the contingencies of psychotherapy as functional equivalences between the clinical context and the daily experiences of patients. This article reviews the theoretical foundations of this therapy, the clinically relevant behaviors, the therapist’s rules and the conceptualization of clinical cases. It finalizes with a description of the implementation of FAP in Costa Rica.
