Abstract
This document studies the processes in which women decided to convert to Pentecostalism, as well as the implications this decision had afterwards. This research was done between 2013 and 2015, and used a qualitative methodology. As results from this research, it was found that although women found a refuge from their problems, there is a trade-off because women must surrender to a feminine socialization that reinforces gender inequality. Because of the aforementioned, the majority of the interviewed women expressed that they have suffered gender violence, and unfortunately the religious community justifies those actions.
