Abstract
Public health is one of the most important issues in social history, so the present study is conducted from a socio-historical approach, because this topic has not been studied enough from the official Cuban historiography, topic that implicitly contains a multidisciplinary approach. Therefore, this research aims to assess the state of public health in the republican Bayamo during the years 1902-1928. The dialectical-materialist methodology was used, with the historical-logical, deductive-inductive and analysis synthesis methods, in order to establish the local peculiarities of the phenomenon. The research developed has high scientific novelty because it allows to elucidate a forgotten dimension of Cuban social history from a new methodological proposal.
