Resumen

El artículo retoma a hipótesis de la influencia griega en el teatro sánscrito, formulada, por primera vez, por Weber. A partir de la información brindada por Plutarco (Mor. 328d, Alex. 8.2-3, Alex. 72.1 y Crass. 33.2) y Filóstrato (V A 2.32), se propone la expansión del helenismo griego por Asia Central como el escenario idóneo para la concreción de dicha influencia. Frente a otras propuestas similares (Windisch, Reich, Free, Walker), se concluye que la influencia, de haber ocurrido, habría estado determinada, en gran medida, por las obras de Eurípides.
