On the fiftieth anniversary of the Sede del Atlántico

In Volume 23 (47), corresponding to the months of January - June 2022, we commemorate the Atlantic Headquarters (Sede del Atlántico) of the University of Costa Rica for its fiftieth anniversary.

The Atlantic Headquarters is located in the city of Turrialba, 67 km from San José, in the Atlantic area of the country. This headquarters was founded on August 22, 1971. Currently it extends part of its academic activity to Siquirres, Guápiles and Paraíso de Cartago. Its average population is 1,687 students and it is made up of the Turrialba, Paraíso and Guápiles Campus.

We congratulate the Atlantic Headquarters for the great effort carried out throughout its history to regionalize Costa Rican higher education!
