Abstract
The narrators of these 304 horror stories, the origin of which is now lost in time, are 16 women and 32 men, born in between 1911 and 1943 in Juan Viñas, the main town of the canton of Jiménez (Cartago, Costa Rica), or in one of its adjacent towns: Santa Marta (formerly "Little Hell"), El Sitio (which includes San Martín, Buenos Aires and La Victoria), La Gloria and El Congo. To keep the informants anonymous, we present only their initials.Comments
