Abstract
This study analized the process of inclusion-consolidation of the music as one of the constituing subjects of the Costa Rican public elementary and secondary curricula, from 1849 to 1925, and according to three intervening factors: the legislating documents towards the public education, the people or institutions playing a deciding role in the process, and the different visions around the importance of music for the development of children and youth.Comments
