Abstract

How can we know the values of justice and mercy in Victor Hugo’s novel Les Misérables? To answer this question, I am going to do an analysis of the author’s social context because it was a detonant of his work. I am going to expose the many philosophical meanings of mercy and justice, and how they can be applied to the novel.
