Abstract
The main objective of this paper is to identify and value the student-professor interaction and the pedagogical mediation achieved through good teaching practices of two academics at the School of Literature and Language Sciences (ELCL) at Universidad Nacional (UNA) in their English classes. This motivation can be accomplished by a positive professor’s attitude, a balanced and peaceful classroom environment, and an adequate class planning organization and execution, which can be perceived by students through the different activities and resources used by the professor. It is plausible that these good teaching practices promote learning since the use of a series of virtual tools and teaching strategies foster the students’ willingness to learn and this helps them improve their academic performance. This study was carried out in February, 2015 with a sample of two online questionnaires, carried out during the second semester of 2014, and eight student-teacher evaluations, performed during the two semesters of 2014.
