Abstract
This qualitative study focusses on the association between the individual and group cognitive
processing of films and the formation of social identity related to the nation category.
The results show the presence of in-group favoritism after the viewing of the films, in both
context of processing, however, in the group processing was clearer the favoritism. There
were differences between the two types of processing in relation to the prevalence of content
categorization and the assigned valence to that categorization.
