Abstract
This article presents an analysis of the Bribri (Coroma's variation) clause as message, according to Halliday's systemic-functional grammar. The objective is to establish which elements can be placed in a thematic position - that is, can function as Theme - in the simple clause structure. The data, which has been analyzed in an exhaustive manner in order to fulfill the goal of this paper, was gathered using the elicitation technique with the help of a Bribri native speaker.Comments
