2023

The journal Estudios begins the year 2023 with a special issue put together thanks to the valuable contribution of teachers from the School of General Studies, who developed their work around themes of history, philosophy, literature, education and art. We invite you to read the four different sections published here, as well as the interesting review and translation.

The School of General Studies, the South Campus of the University of Costa Rica and the Faculty of Literary Arts of the university, among others, continually organize congresses, workshops and academic activities that allow their teachers to continuously update and produce academic articles that renew the body of scientific research, as well as teaching and social action: the basic objectives of the University of Costa Rica.

On this occasion, the Estudios Journal took advantage of two research initiatives: the first conference on Classical Studies of the Department of Classical Philology of the School of Philology, Linguistics and Literature of the University of Costa Rica, entitled “Hellenism: Globalization of Greek Language and Culture and Philosophy” and the proposal of the dossier: "Education: Challenges and New Perspectives for the 21st Century", coordinated by the Philosophy and Thought Section of the School of General Studies in conjunction with the Thematic Chair Humanities in the South Pacific, South Campus.

Our thanks to those who directed both dossiers: Professor M.Sc.Jenny Salas Moya, coordinator of the Permanent Teaching Extension Program of the Department of Classical Philology of the University of Costa Rica, and Professor M.Sc.Randall Jiménez Retana, coordinator of the Philosophy and Thought Section of the School of General Studies and coordinator of the Thematic Chair in Humanities in the South Pacific, South Campus of the University of Costa Rica.
