Resumo

En variables como la competencia motriz percibida (CMP) y observada (CMO), se ha indagado cómo las intervenciones motrices pueden provocar efectos positivos, sin embargo, los efectos de los juegos predeportivos no tradicionales (en el contexto costarricense) han sido poco estudiados. Esta investigación tuvo como propósito determinar el efecto de los juegos predeportivos tradicionales (T) y juegos predeportivos no tradicionales (NT) sobre la CMP y la CMO en escolares de primaria costarricenses. Participaron voluntariamente 72 niños y niñas de cuarto grado de primaria, de dos escuelas públicas costarricenses. El grupo control (no realizó ningún tipo de tratamiento), los grupos experimentales se asignaron aleatoriamente a los siguientes tratamientos: (T), (NT), mixto (T y NT) y cada uno de los 3 grupos realizó 7 sesiones de 80 minutos, 1 vez por semana. Se evaluó la CMP utilizando la Escala Pictográfica de Percepción de Competencia en Habilidades Motrices para Niños(as) Jóvenes y la CMO se evalúo con la Prueba para el Desarrollo Motor Grueso (TGMD-2). Se encontró que los tres grupos experimentales mejoraron significativamente (entre mediciones) en las destrezas manipulativas, en comparación con el grupo control (F = 10.75; p = 0.001). Para las demás variables, no se encontró diferencias estadísticamente significativas (p > 0.05) entre los grupos y las mediciones. Se concluye que un programa de T, NT, o la combinación de ambos, propician mejorías significativas en la manipulación observada en esta población estudiantil de cuarto grado de primaria. Se recomienda introducir actividades de este tipo en las lecciones de Educación Física.
