From the sculptures of the Pope John Paul II and The Monument “Los Presentes” (Monument to those present), as well as the bust of the General José de San Martín and the monument in stone to Cacique (native chief) Garabito, the author symbolizes the history and diversity that constitute the Costa Rican identity; respectively; the church and religion; the peasant, rurality and work; the independence struggles of Latin America, and, finally, the indigenous people resistance.
