The sculpture Los Presentes evokes the rural, impoverished groups and the peasantry observing the changes in Costa Rican society. The Costa Rican flag is waving in the distance, while the city's buildings, cars, and urban development seem intimidating to the people economically, technologically, and socially lagging.
